I am an experienced, well qualified retired primary headteacher. Throughout my career I have specialised in teaching English and supporting children with Special Needs. My central philosophy is that every child has positive qualities, and I believe in using these very qualities to nurture development and address areas of challenge.

I offer a bespoke teaching programme for each child.

After an initial free consultation with parents in which previous educational issues are identified, I will design a programme of teaching and learning specifically for your child. This aims to improve areas of weakness and to raise your child’s self – confidence, including coping strategies to use at school.

A multisensory teaching approach will improve reading, writing, spelling and listening skills. Reading at home, with parents, is strongly encouraged.

When?

As children are tired after school, sessions will be normally best held on Saturdays or in the holidays,or weekday evenings by negotiation, to ensure your child reaps maximum benefit from this extra support.

Location

I teach at my home in Lancaster, in the vicinity of the castle and near the railway station.There is free parking available for accompanying parents/adults.
